Frozen Tundra!!!!!!!!! A couple of more weeks until the fishing really starts. I have not heard of any fish midging yet, maybe in a couple of weeks. I find with a lot of outdoor activities a lot of people jump at the first opportunity to partake. The parking lots at the ski hills are typically full the first couple of weekends, and the same people who jump the gun aren't around in February and March when the Skiing is best. Same thing goes for fishing, let's wait till it gets good, and then go fishing.
I have been told there are a record number of people fishing this winter..... I say leave them alone, their metabolisms are low, it is cold and sometimes dangerous, it is mainly subsurface fishing, and even the rainbows don't fight. I would rather tie flies and work on equipment.
